At Prescott Frontier Days® World’s Oldest Rodeo®, giving back is as important as putting on the greatest show on dirt. Through our We Rodeo We Give initiative, we support local schools, youth programs, veterans, breast cancer research and survivors, and countless community causes. From scholarships to facility access to donations, our goal is simple: to strengthen the Prescott community we’re proud to call home.
Community Support
We contribute to local fundraising efforts and partner with service organizations to make a lasting impact.
AZ 250 Kick Off participation
• PFD was invited to Phoenix, AZ to commemorate and participate in the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride and the enduring spirit of American democracy entitled “Two Lights for Tomorrow.”
• PFD provided the horse and riders to carry the lantern during the Midnight Ride reenactment.
• PFD team gave roping lessons to attendees
• Goodie bags donated
Exceptional Champs Rodeo
• Partnered with two non-profit organizations to provide rodeo for special needs folks

Prescott Firefighters Charities
• PFD supplies a merchandise booth
• PFD supports this official charity of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and the Prescott Fire Department by offering community awareness through its social media channels to help serve the needs of our community members and First Responders.
Yavapai County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse
• PFD donates cost of arena for their roping fundraiser.
Emergency Large Animal Housing Official Location
• PFD partnered with Equine Emergency Evacuation (EEE) and Large Animal Shelters & Emergency Readiness (LASER)
• PFD serves as emergency housing location for animals during disasters
• EEE and LASER evacuate and transport large animals to Rodeo Grounds
National Night Out
• Nation-wide event, PFD provided arena use at no charge
• Provides safe space for community to meet with First Responders

• Organized and operated by PFD; free family-friendly event that promotes a western theme
• 2nd largest parade in Arizona

Sharlot Hall Museum
• The intertwining of events and displays makes history real and interesting for people and the Sharlot Hall Museum is an extraordinary example of pulling these components together to make Prescott what it is today. PFD is a shining example of how a decades-long partnership with the museum has benefitted local communities as well as guest from around the world.
Service & outreach
We give back through food bank support, keeping our rodeo friends and family updated, and partnerships with Veterans and First Responders programs.
Weekly Newspaper Articles
• To reach people who prefer receiving their information by newspaper, PFD provides weekly articles written by a volunteer to keep the local communities informed (Rodeo Roundup).
• Keeps the public notified about free and low-cost, family friendly activities at the rodeo grounds.
• Keeps the public engaged; teaches them about key people and historical background.
Free bus service to the World’s Oldest Rodeo
• PFD negotiated with the Prescott Unified School District to offer free bus rides to and from the rodeo to lower the impact of traffic for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Recovery in the Pines/Camp Verde Detention Center support
• Organizations provide workers; PFD feeds them and volunteering at the Rodeo Grounds takes time off their sentences.
• Guided by PFD personnel to help the workers reach a “new life of independence and free of addiction.”

Health & Healing
Through Ridin’ for a Cure and other programs to promote well-being, we support cancer patients, cancer survivors, and local programs.
Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center for Cancer Treatment
• PFD took over the cancer initiative (Ridin’ for a Cure: we are the sole sponsor) – All proceeds from Ridin’ for a Cure dinner and auction stay local.
• New campaign broadens reach to include all cancer types
• Continued sales of PFD cookbook developed for and dedicated to cancer survivors sold in hospital gift shop
Senior Make-a-Wish program
• Special seating on Blue Moon Saloon deck
• For critical ill patient and two caregivers
Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund (JCCF)
• Lends a helping hand to professional rodeo athletes and their families when catastrophic injuries happen to those who have dedicated their lives to the sport of rodeo.
• PFD is the #1 contributor to JCCF in the world at this time.
• Benefit cornhole tourney held for our own Trey Blackmore.

• Representatives from TLP spoke to PFD membership about their flagship “Better Together” dinner that promotes community understanding.
• PFD and TLP have developed a mutually beneficial working relationship.

La Fiesta de los Vaqueros/Tucson Rodeo
• PFD shares lessons learned, experiences, helps whenever possible, and provides social media coverage for their event.
Northern Arizona Youth Sports
• PFD sponsors the Bolts softball team
Prescott ATHENA
• PFD supports this women’s leadership organization that develops and honors women leaders through the programs it administers.
Sons of the American Revolution
• Group focuses on education outreached based on the American Revolutionary War.
Tri-City Speedsters
• Family-oriented organization provides equine-related activities within our community. Provides opportunities for volunteerism and promotes citizenship and sportsmanship.
