Mutton bustin’ – where rodeo’s youngest cowgirls and cowboys climb aboard and ride rambunctious sheep – is so popular that Prescott Frontier Days is featuring the pre-rodeo event for eight performances at the 137th World’s Oldest Rodeo in 2024. While PFD and the fans believe all contestants are winners, the rider who holds on the longest at each performance will receive a shiny belt buckle. Each contestant will also receive a commemorative World’s Oldest Rodeo back number.
Online entries will open Monday, June 3rd through Friday, June 21st, 2024. Children between ages 4 and 7 and not exceeding 55 pounds are eligible to ride in the event. The entry fee is $15 and entries are limited to 12 for each performance. The 2024 Prescott Frontier Days – World’s Oldest Rodeo runs July 1 through July 7, 2024.
